Wrestling Open Practice Set For Saturday, October 29

Story Links PISCATAWAY, NJ – Wrestling with Rutgers is hosting an open practice session at Jersey Mike’s Arena on Saturday, October 29. Doors open at 10 a.m. ET and admission is free. Parking is also free, more information about access to the lots at Jersey Mike’s Arena will follow later. Season tickets for the 2022-23 campaign are on sale now and can be purchased here. RU will host four games this winter in Jersey Mike’s Arena – vs. 15 Michigan State (January 20), vs. 3 Michigan (January 22), vs. 20 Northwestern (January 29) and vs. No. 1 Penn State (February 10). The Scarlet Knights will also have a season opening game against Clarion on November 11 at College Ave. gym. Rutgers will return three All-Americans this season – Sammy Alvarez, John Poznanski and Jackson Turley – as well as eight NCAA qualifiers. Under head coach Scott Goodale, the Scarlet Knights finished the 2021-22 season with the most double wins (16) since 2012-13 and the highest final ranking in the NWCA Coaches Poll (14) since 2017. RU qualified seven for the 2022 NCAA Championships – the most since 2017 – and had all participants score at the national tournament. Greg Bulsak (197) and Sebastian Rivera (141) added All-America honors to make it seven consecutive seasons with multiple All-Americans at NCAAs. With his bronze medal, Rivera became the fourth person to achieve a top three finish on nationals in the history of the program.
