A classic Virat Kohli chase emerged as the Indian cricket team faced Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. The match turned out to be a spectacle, with India winning the match on the very last ball, courtesy of Kohli’s unbeaten 82. The echoes of the Indo-Pak battle at MCG were so great that even Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh couldn’t stop praising sing before the match.

At a press conference on Monday, Marsh admitted that cricket matches don’t get much better than those the world witnessed in Melbourne on Sunday.

He even said that if the World Cup “gets even better, we’re in for three great weeks”.

“I actually think we should just stop the World Cup there. Um, if it gets any better, we’re in for three great weeks. India v Pakistan is always an incredible match to watch. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have been in that crowd and be a part of it,” Marsh said at the press conference on the eve of Australia’s game against Sri Lanka.

Marsh also praised Virat Kohli, who arguably delivered his best performance in a T20 match, helping India chase the 160-run goal from near-impossible situations.

“Yeah. to watch, an incredible game. So hopefully there are a few more of those,” Marsh continued.

Australia themselves have not had the best start to the campaign, having lost their opening match of the tournament to New Zealand. The hosts must beat Australia if they are to keep their hopes of the semi-final alive.
