Kent State is back in action at the MAC Center for a pair of Mid-American Conference volleyball games as part of Halloweekend. The Golden Flashes will host Northern Illinois on Friday at 6 p.m. for the Dig for the Cure/Black Out Cancer game. The first 250 fans will receive a free pink t-shirt. A game against West Michigan at 4 p.m. Saturday will close out the weekend.
EXAMPLE OF THE FLASHES The Golden Flashes (12-10, 3-8 MAC) lost three games over four days last week. After battling Ohio 3-2 at home, Kent State lost a few games in three sets at Buffalo.
The depth of The Flashes has been on display during the first month of the season, with five players winning a total of six MAC East Division Player of the Week awards. Graduate student Alex Haffner has twice won MAC East Division Setter of the Week, with graduate student Erin Gardner (defensive), senior Gracey Jarecke (defensive), senior Savannah Matthews (offensive), and freshman Mackenzie McGuire (offensive) each earning a selection.
UP NEXT Kent State will hit the road again on November 3-4 for games in Ball State.
