LAHAINA, Hawaii — The #20-ranked Georgia men’s golf team finished eighth in round two of the Ka’anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational on Saturday. The Bulldogs scored a 1-over 285 to tie Boise State as both teams played a total of 563 cards on the Royal Ka’anapali Course. Oklahoma took the lead from Clemson with a 6-under 278, followed by East Tennessee State with 1-under 283. Sophomore Maxwell Ford paced the Bulldogs for the second day, finishing in a tie for 5th place. With 23 spots on the scoreboard, Ford scored a 4-under 67 – two shy of North Florida leader Nick Gabrelcik. Junior Caleb Manuel added an even par 71 in 34th place. Seniors Nicholas Cassidy and Ben van Wyk finished in 49th place with a total of 143. Cassidy had a 2-over score of 73 and van Wyk finished at a 4-over 75. In 66th place sophomore Buck Brumlow had a 3-over 74. Playing as an individual, freshman Carter Loflin landed at 2-under 69, tied for 10th. Sunday at 2 p.m., the Bulldogs will return to the track.
