Honda Atlas launched its HR-V last week and began booking Monday with the promise it would start delivering cars in January. By Friday, customers who wanted to book the Honda vehicle were given a July-August 2023 delivery date, multiple dealers confirmed to Business Recorder.
A Honda dealership official in Karachi also told Business Recorder that customers wishing to purchase the HR-V must also sign a commitment pledging not to sue Honda if it does not deliver the car on the agreed date.

“There is a global shortage of auto parts and the government’s import restrictions could lead to delays,” he said.
Meanwhile, industry experts said HR-V’s price tag of around Rs6 million could help the company penetrate the SUV market segment.

However, the July-August 2023 delivery date within a week of launch will disappoint some buyers, they said.
The long delivery time is not only a problem with the HR-V.
The delivery time for Honda Civic, launched in March this year, is currently quoted for June-July 2023 if the car is booked.
Indus Motor Company and Pak Suzuki also mention long delivery times to their customers.
The high delivery time is also a boon for investors who can now charge more ‘own money’.

“Groups with strong funding capacity will survive the competition under the circumstances,” the official said.
