GUWAHATI: The three Swedish nationals, who were detained by police in Assam’s Dibrugarh district on Wednesday evening, will be deported from India on Friday.
The three Swedish citizens have already been sent from Assam to New Delhi, where they will stay overnight.
Later, on Friday morning, Indian authorities will arrange to board a flight directly to Stockholm, Sweden’s capital.
According to reports, the three Swedish nationals had to pay a $500 fine by Assam police before being sent to New Delhi.
The three Swedish nationals were detained by the Namrup police in the Dibrugarh district of Assam for joining a religious congregation, violating visa standards.

The Swedish nationals identified as Hannah Mikaela Bloom, Marcus Arne Henrik Bloom and Susanna Elizabeth Hakansson.
They had arrived in Namrup in Assam to participate in the three-day “Peace and Healing Prayer Festival” scheduled from October 25 to 27, hosted by the United Churches Fellowship and Bless Assam Mission Network at the Achabam Ghinai Playground in Namrup.
Assam police have declined to register a case against the trio because of the cordial diplomatic relationship that India and Sweden share.
