Since he last made his debut for India, Suryakumar Yadav’s shares have risen dramatically. In T20 cricket, the middle order batter is considered by many to be the “best hitter in the world” when it comes to shortest format. Surya is acclaimed by fans not only in India, but also across the border. Even the veteran Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik praised Surya for the variety of shots he hits and how he plays with the brain of the bowler who bowls to him.

During A Sports, Pakistani cricket greats lke Shoaib Malik and Wasim Akram discussed how Suryakumar uses the bowler’s pace and bounce to execute scoop and round shots to perfection.

“The shot that he plays, that he hits after… his technique is so good that even if he doesn’t reach that height, he can still execute the shot,” he said.

“SKY is something else, isn’t it? These are the kind of shots that young people should learn),” said Wasim Akram and Malik replied: “They can definitely learn if they want to. They have to have a goal to achieve. They have to be there too hard for work.

He also plays with the bowler’s mind and considers whether to score on short balls, maybe the bowler will bowl fuller. It’s very important for middle-class batters to play with the spirit of the bowlers,” Malik added.

Malik expected Surya to struggle in Perth, but the 32-year-old excelled with the bat, scoring 68 runs off 40 balls to help the Indian team get 133 runs on the board. However, South Africa chased the goal, with Aiden Markram and David Miller scoring for half a century.
