Strong final round lifts Mountain Hawks to eighth in Lehigh Invitational

Story Links Combined Final Results Monday Summary BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh’s women’s golf team finished the fall season on a strong note, shooting 300 photos in the final round of the Lehigh Invitational Tuesday at Saucon Valley Country Club’s Grace Course. Four players shot 77 or better as Lehigh finished the two-day event at 621 (321-300), taking eighth place out of a field of 16 teams. Junior Meghna Grover was the best of Lehigh, finishing in ninth place with 150 (74-76). Grover made three birdies in her final round of 76. Sophomore Madison Pineda carded Lehigh’s low round of the day and made a pair of birdies in a par 72 tie. Pineda finished in 24th place with 153 (81-72). Freshman Yuki Zhu saw a six-stroke improvement from Monday as she shot 75 with one birdie to take 33rd place at 156 (81-75). Senior Hannah Foster shot her second straight 85 to finish 71st at 170, while classmate Iris Shin enjoyed a 17 stroke improvement in a final lap 77 when she tied for 72nd. Shin’s final round included a few birdies. Individually, sophomore Sophie Chang competed for 72nd place at 171 (84-87). Navy captured the team title at 594 (295-299) beating FDU by eight strokes. Quinnipiac’s Kaylee Sakoda defeated Marine’s Mara Hirtle on the fifth playoff hole to earn individual medalists. The Mountain Hawks will be back on the track in March for their spring campaign.
