Saint Louis looks set to extend its winning streak to five on Saturday night, when it hosts the Saint Joseph’s Hawks at Hermann Stadium for a 7pm kickoff. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Dan Bettlach on the phone. The Billikens (9-4-1, 5-1-1 A-10) get votes in United Soccer Coaches poll. They come off of a 3-1 win over #19 Dayton last Saturday that jumped the Bills to first place in the A-10 standings. The A-10 scenario is simple for the Billikens: Win Saturday and they’ll be the back-to-back regular-season A-10 champions and No. 1 in the men’s A-10 football championship. Duquesne is in second place in the standings and could take SLU if it wins at La Salle (Saturday at 4pm) and the Billikens lose or draw against the Hawks on Saturday night. Saint Joseph’s (3-5-8, 2-1-4 A-10) also has a lot to play for on Saturday-evening. The Hawks are in a three-way tie for fourth in the A-10 and are among the 10 teams still vying for six places in the eight-team A-10 Men’s Soccer Championship. Here are five additional facts ahead of Saturday’s game. 1 // Six SLU seniors will be recognized in a pregame ceremony Saturday beginning at approximately 6:45pm – John Klein, Enzo Okpoye, Alex Shterenberg, Alberto Suarez, Carlos Tofern and Lane Warrington. 2 // SLU head coach Kevin Kalish starts Saturday with a 50-21-12 record in five years at Saint Louis. The next win for Kalish will be the 100th in his career as he is 99-67-26 in total in 11 years. 3 // Top Drawer Soccer recently honored multiple Billikens as top players in the country. John Klein was ranked number 19 in the national top 100 players. Max Floriani was named 43rd best freshman while CJ Coppola was 65th on the top 100 freshman list. 4 // The top eight teams advance to the A-10 Men’s Soccer Championship. The tournament will all be played on campus grounds this year. SLU is already hosting a quarter-final to be played on Friday, November 4 at 7:00 PM. If SLU organizes a semi-final at Hermann Stadium, the match will take place on Wednesday 9 November at 7 pm. -10 Championship Final will be played on Sunday 13 November. 5 // Saint Louis leads the all-time series 10-0-1 over the Hawks. Last year, the Billikens won 3-2 in double overtime in Philadelphia. This is SJU’s first trip to Hermann Stadium since the 2017 season.
