Men’s Swimming & Diving: Macalester Hosts Saint John’s in Dual Meet

Story Links ST. PAUL, Minnesota — The Macalester College men’s swimming and diving team hosted Saint John’s in a doubles match at Riley Pool on Saturday. The Johnnies won the team scoring by 184.0 points to 54.0 points for Macalester.

Second year student Charles Batsaikhan (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia/East Chapel Hill) recorded the only victory for the Scots, winning the 200m freestyle with a time of 1:50.80. He also finished second in the 100m breaststroke in 1:02.27. Second in line, Kynan DeSouza-Chen (Boulder, Colo./Fairview) also finished second, finishing second in the 100m butterfly with a time of 55.89.

Freshman TJ Palli (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) was second in the 100 freestyle (50.26) and third in the 50 meter freestyle (50.26). Freshman Casey Meretta (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) finished third in the 100m backstroke with a time of 57.70. Fourth were sophomore Jay Fanning (Tiffin, Ohio/Columbian) in the 1000-meter freestyle, sophomore Ryan McNeff (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) in the 400-meter medley, freshman Alec Chen (Edina, Minn./Edina) in the 100m butterfly, sophomore Isaac Kisker (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) in the 100m freestyle and freshman Will St. John (McGaheysville, Va./East Rockingham) in the 100m breaststroke.

Next up for Macalester is another home game on Saturday, November 5 against Carleton. The meet starts at 1:00 PM at Riley Pool.
