Businessman Lalit Modi took a dig at the Center and the masses on Tuesday about his dating actor Sushmita Sen. The money laundering accused, who has lived in the UK for more than a decade, shared a comic strip in which the masses showed more interest in his love life than the burning issues affecting the country.
The cartoon implies that the masses are more interested in his relationship with Sen than in retail inflation, the cost of gas cylinders and the declining rupee against the dollar.
Earlier this month, Modi caused a stir on social media after announcing that he is dating Sushmita Sen. He shared several photos of him with the actor while on a private vacation. At that time people thought they were married. Both Sen and Modi denied the reports. They said they were dating alone.
Modi and Sushmita Sen were brutally trolled on social media. Trolls called Sen a prospector and Modi a fugitive from the law.
Lalit Modi later wrote a tantalizing post saying that none of the country’s courts had convicted him. He said he was born with a diamond spoon and that he didn’t even have to bribe anyone or take bribes. He said he filled BCCI’s coffers by formulating and running the Indian Premier League.
Sushmita Sen had also attacked trolls in a sarcastic tweet. “The dating choices of the former Miss Universe remain a constant and inexplicable matter of public debate,” she tweeted.
