Bangladesh got off to a tentative start as they chased a low total, with Najmul Hossain Shanto losing early. Litton Das and Anamul Haque rode on luck and did well not to lose any more wickets against the moving new ball. Next, Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan teamed up to take the game deep. Once these two were fired, it was the experienced pair of Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim who gave chase. But both set batters were disallowed on consecutive pitches to trouble Bangladesh. With that, Bangladesh lost their way in the chase and soon found themselves nine behind and staring at defeat. Then Mehidy Hasan along with Mustafizur Rahman took matters into his own hands for support and guided Bangladesh home from a losing position.
