STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut women’s volleyball team is ready for a two-game road trip to take on Georgetown and Villanova. The Huskies take on Georgetown on Friday, October 28 at 5:00 PM and travel to Villanova on Saturday, October 29 at 7:00 PM.
UConn goes into the weekend with a five-game winning streak, holding an overall record of 11-10 and a record of 5-5 in conference play. The Huskies are coming off a 2-0 week separating both Providence and Butler in three sets.
Leading the way for UConn is senior Caylee Parker with 259 kills. Parker averages four points per set and averages three kills per set. In addition to Parker, senior Jasmine Davis has 225 kills and an average of three kills per set. Senior Madi Whitmire has been a constant presence for the Huskies as she has totaled 776 assists this season while averaging 10 assists per set.
On the way to the matchup vs. the Huskies, Georgetown sets an overall record of 4-17 and a record of 2-8 in conference play. Leading the way for Georgetown is Mary Grace Goyena. Goyena currently averages four points per set to go along with three kills per set. UConn and Georgetown have faced each other 11 times in the team’s history, with UConn leading the series with eight wins.
Heading into Saturday’s game against UConn, Villanova sets a 6-1-6 overall record and a 2-8 record in conference play. UConn and Villanova met once earlier this season, resulting in a 3-1 game win for the Huskies. Leading the way for the Wildcats is Rose Crist with 232 total kills and Riley Homer with 214 total kills. Both Homer and Crist have an average of three points and kills per set.
