Honda has teased the upcoming SUV for the Southeast Asian markets, which is likely to reach Indian shores soon.
Honda Cars is all set to remove the covers from a new subcompact SUV for the Southeast Asian markets that could soon reach Indian shores as well. The new SUV has been teased on billboards across Indonesia. The new SUV from the Japanese carmaker is likely to be the Honda SUV RS Concept that was recently shown at a car show. The teaser of the SUV with the message “Wheeling Soon” on the billboard shows the silhouette of the upcoming subcompact SUV from the Japanese car giant.
The image of the SUV was previously leaked and it is believed to be the new generation WR-V with various changes inside and out. The differences are even apparent from the silhouette of the SUV on the billboard. The front of the SUV looks very different compared to the WR-V, or even the RS concept. Honda’s official website in Indonesia hints that the new SUV will indeed be the new RS. It said “Welcoming the New RS” as it described the soon-to-be-launched new SUV. However, the car manufacturer has not yet revealed the official name of the model.
The image on the billboards shows that the SUV comes with LED headlights similar to the previous generation HR-V. The grille will come with the RS emblem, while the bumper will be thick, housing the LED fog lights. The image shows that the SUV comes with vertical taillights and turn signals on the mirrors. The new Honda SUV RS also gets a roof rail. Honda has confirmed that the new SUV will come with Honda Sensing features.
Honda will launch the new SUV in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian markets. It is also likely to consider the new SUV for India. The automaker currently offers WR-V in the subcompact segment in India. However, WR-V has not been as successful as some of its rivals. When launched, it will compete against rivals such as the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Nissan Magnite.
