Story Links ITA CAROLINA REGIONAL MATCH RESULTS DURHAM – Duke men’s tennis fell into the semifinals of both singles and doubles at the ITA Carolina Regional Championships at Cary Tennis Park on Monday.
No. 17-32 Presbyterian’s Dusan Milanovic claimed a 6-2, 6-3 win over senior No. 7 Andrew Zhang in the singles semifinals. A few hours later, Zhang was back on the field with teammate Michael Heller in the doubles quarterfinals. The duo defeated fourth-seeded Benjamin Kittay and Logan Zapp of North Carolina in a three-set comeback thriller 5-7, 6-4, 13-11. Unfortunately, the pair would not be able to win another exciting three-set match in the semi-finals. Zhang and Heller recorded a 7-6 (8) tiebreaker win in the opening set against No. 9-16 Rafael Izquierdo Luque and Joseph Wayand NC State, but dropped a 7-6 (1) decision in the second. With the match leading up to the outcome of the third set, the Wolfpack moved forward for the 10-3 win to advance to Tuesday’s final.
