Barcelona provide injury updates on Eric Garcia and Jules Koude

Barcelona have provided updates on Eric Garcia and Jules Kunde after both players were forced out in Saturday’s win over Valencia.

The Catalans have confirmed the nature of both injuries, but have not said how much time both players will miss. However, it appears that both players have only sustained minor muscle strain and should be available for next Saturday’s La Liga game against Almeria.

“Tests conducted this morning, Sunday, October 30, concluded that first-team player Eric Garcia has an external obturator muscle strain in his left hip. He is not available for selection and his recovery will determine his return.

Due to the injuries, Xavi will have to adjust his backline for Viktoria Plzen halfway through the week. Gerard Pique is likely to start and could partner with Marcos Alonso or Andreas Christensen as centre-back. The Dane has been out since the beginning of the month, but is expected to be back soon.
