After a three-year hiatus, the BAFTA’s Children & Young People Awards are back

BAFTA has revealed the nominations for the Children & Young People Awards 2022, although this edition comes with a twist.

As it has been three years since the Children & Young People Awards were last presented, productions originally released in the UK between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2022 are eligible this year. It creates some interesting lineups of nominees in certain categories.

For example, in the feature film category, 2019 BAFTA winner Klaus will take on 2020’s Over the Moon and 2021 BAFTA nominees The Mitchells Vs. The Machines and Wolfwalkers. It would be quite an achievement if three years after winning the BAFTA for Best Animated Film, Netflix’s perennial family favorite Klaus added a Children & Young People BAFTA to his trophy shelf.
